I have then added black buttons to make it more interesting and go with the monochrome look.

'My first of many'... i decided a few weeks ago to start making/editing clothes. So, i bought a normal plain long sleeve which i intended to make in to a shirt dress, to go in with the new fashion autumn/winter 2011: Tailoring.

my final piece for the short, although the picture of the back has bad lighting which makes them look patchy. i have added flower and sewn them on and added the seed to be consistent to top.

to the shorts i have added the flowers of the same fabric as my top, this is just so they tie in well with the top i will hand sew the floral down and add the beads to look like the top.

i was testing to see if the colours went together here...

after the shorts were bleached they turned out brown, i thought this may not go but they go better than the denim do, the brown compliments the green floral fabric.

i have added some red beads to give a seeded a effect on the flower, it also is to add colour to the green.

the back of th shorts, i have started by adding a differnt patched pocket with a lace trim.

I tried the trousers on my model lucy and they just had no fit to them, they also was too much of the same pattern and just look over the top, I discussed with my group what we should do i thought maybe a skirt would be nice however another pattern wouldn't even clash well. soo... we came up the idea of denim shorts, i found these denim shorts and got lots of scraps denim in the fabric bin, we thought maybe patch work denim on them so on the second picture im playing around with patch etc. I have also lenghtened the shorts by taken down the fold, i them added lace to the bottom to make it more elegant and go with the top. I'm going to play around with patch and maybe bleach the trousers to make them a bit lighter, which will then tie in with my top....
